Various Locations of Cache Files by Operating System & Web Browsers

Here is a list of various locations of cache files for each web browser and operating system. Different versions of the operating system as well as different versions of the web browser may change where the cache files are located. It is recommended that you search each location for every browser since a computer may have had it;s operating system and/or web browser version updated.

Apple Macintosh OS X
Chrome - /Users/chiefereal/Library/Caches/Google/Chrome/
Chrome - /Users/chiefereal/Library/Caches/com.google.Chrome/
Firefox - /Users/chiefereal/Library/Preferences/Firefox/
Firefox - /Users/chiefereal/Library/Caches/Firefox/
Internet Explorer - /Users/chiefereal/Library/Preferences/Explorer/
Netscape - /Users/chiefereal/Library/Preferences/Netscape/
Safari - /Users/chiefereal/Library/Preferences/Safari/
Safari - /Users/chiefereal/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/

Tip: If you are using a newer Mac OS X installation and are seeing cache files are stored in a single file called Cache.db, Google “Cache Viewer for Mac” and download an app such as SafariCacheExplorer or a SQLite Database viewer to view the contents of the Cache.db file.
